Professional young pigeon competition

Those who would now like to compete with young pigeons professionally and successfully should observe some important points. The simplest method is:

  • breed winter youths, vaccinate and darken them immediately after removing them;
  • for immunisation, set up a straw corner, and starting from the beginning of May do not remove any additional young animals to the travel pigeons;
  • stop the darkening in approx. begin June, acclimate the young pigeons to the transport basket and train privately every 2 days, depending on weather;
  • approx. 3-4 weeks prior to the beginning of travel, separate sexes, train separately at the house and compete according to the “sliding door method”. Feed your young pigeons by hand, “short” in the morning, full in the evenings. Make sure that they pick up all of the grain, but do not overeat.
